I adore Harry Potter and obsess over the book constantly. I do mean constantly. I also love to watch invader zim and play age of empires with my brother. | | I'm back! So after six awful months of pneumonia and all that jazz, I'm back! HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA! and Scott is too, after having pleurisy :D So I went out to Bonneville Glen, lap around and back home. It was a nice day to run but my lungs were killing! And after (and during) I realized I need to running shoes. Youch! |

| | So after my first day back running I realized having sore muscles is a blessing. Sore lungs are not. So I just went on a super easy run around the track with Scott and RJ. Blast much? I think so :) |

| | Today Bill told Scott, RJ and I to go run to...well we forgot where he said. So we went in the direction he pointed, Up guardsman and over, past the UofU campus and and then back. When Bill was done with his run we asked where the turn around point was. Apparently it was the light BEFORE the UofU campus. Hooray for a mile more!

| | Today Scott, RJ, TRAVIS and I went on the cemetary loop. Towards the beginning I realized I forgot my inhaler at home. I was thinking about turning back but I really didn't want to. So during the run Scott was looking for a flower to give me because apparently I had the look on my face that said 'I need flowers'. The cemetary's full of them! But don't worry, we didn't steal any from graves. Scott and RJ gave me dandilions, weird tree flowers, and lilacs. Oh, and a pinecone. It actually felt nice to have something in my hands while we ran...until I found a spider in the pinecone. yikes! So three miles with a lot of steady hills. Pretty nice! |

| | So today was date-day. This date was to start right after school. So I went on a run before school (not like I skipped creative writing or anything...'shifty eyes'). I ran down to sugarhouse, big grass loop around and back up. It was pretty fun to look at peoples running posture and all that jazz. New running shoes tomorrow, these are killing me! |
Asics Cascade Miles: 3.00 |
|
| | So today I got my new running shoes! But I'm thinking of getting some inserts cause my arches are mega high. I called RJ and Taylor Squishyface to see is they wanted to run today and they said yes :D so we went over to Bonneville Glen and did two laps. On the way there BubbleSnot said hi to me! EEEEEEEE! I haven't decided if my shoes are to die for, but they're nice either way! Oh and after RJ and I had a summersault fest :D |
Mizuno Wave Inspire 7 Miles: 3.00 |

| | So today I ran in the cemetary with RJ. We kept finding the funniest names. Then we got into the biggest pinecone throwing fight! These mizuno's seem really hard. I'm thinking about replacing them... |

|
| | Today I went with Scott and Travis to Sugarhouse for two miles of barefoot running. Later I decided to make the final decision on my mizunos and went for two miles. I think they are to be exchanged for a softer shoe. |
Mizuno Wave Inspire 7 Miles: 2.00 |
| |
| | Today I exchanged my mizunos for some super cushy asics! I'm in love! these are ultra comfy and pink!!! I ran to sugarhouse and did a grass lap and then a road lap and ran back up. |

Today my brother Chase is graduating. That is a scary thought, cause he's my twin...who's two years older. I can't handle this sad sad day as he leaves. But that doesn't stop me from running...it just made it harder to get up! So I went down to sugarhouse, a big lap around and then ran straight to Jolley's corner and got Chase a ton of gourmet candy (and a caramel for myself). Coming home I sang Taylor Swift REALLY loudly. Oh and I got mauled by a very cuddly kitty :) Today at the pool I pr'ed in my amount of summersaults underwater without coming up for air. Six! Six frontwards and six backwards! Nice way to kick off the summer! |

| | Today was pretty interestingly boring! I woke up sooo early! Then I just ran on the cement :/ The gray surface of death makes my knees scream out in agony! 'Help me! Help me!' they cry as I make each step. And then suddenly my brand new asics come to the rescue in a pink flash! Cushioning the hard rock, the amazing shoes stay with me, making my 4 miles like clouds. After the run I did seven summersaults after and hit a tree! :D :D :D :D :D :D |

The Race for Sleep (3 Miles) 00:26:37, Place overall: 1, Place in age division: 1 | | Today I had the race for the most sleep. All the proceeds went to the college deprived students! I slept a total of seven hours of sleep before, beating RJ's hours of 4...so I did a .5 mile warmup. The warmup was nice and easy, not to mention barefoot. The rules of this race is you have to wear your pj's. During the race I was in first and no one was around me! The first hill was a toughie. I got up it and ALMOST got passed by my imaginary friend Steve. After, the rest seemed downhill. My legs were flying, having my flats on that are GRRRRREAT! (they're tiger striped. haha get it?) Stepping across the finish line was the best. After I did a .5 mile cool down to my house and got another 2 hours of sleep before helping RJ with his eagle project. Night games tonight! |

| | Today at xc we had a ton of new people! There was a mass of girls! We started out with a 1.5 mile warmup. I kept up just fine, but my chest was feeling really tight and my cough was pretty bad. After we had a stretching circle where I learned I REALLY need new elastics for my hair. Maybe their elastic will make me more flexible! After that we did six strides. My air way was really closing up by this point. During them Dylan had natural race instinct and pushed in front of me! That silly goose! Jogging over to the hill I took a couple puffs of my inhaler. During the first hill, my air way was closing up even more! Using my amazing deduction skills I realized it was the vocal cord dysfunction (where instead of my vocal cords opening when I breath they close). So the other hills were a huge pain and just when I felt like quitting Bill decided to notice the fact I was dying. Which meant I kept going (I can't decide on whether to be happy or angry about this). A little under a mile cooldown, where I managed to stay running the whole time...a goose attacked me. We finished by the drinking fountain where TayTay let all the girls go first to get water. Such a gentleman! We did three sets of 15 crunches and three sets of 10 push-ups...I can't do push-ups. RJ gave me a ride home to find a dead bird on my porch. |

| | Today was our first buddy run! I remembered to eat some crackers before running which helped a ton. To start I ran the half mile to practice cause I wanted to be early. I was paired up with Amanda and Taylor's little sister Ashley. Amanda and I were supposed to guide Ashley around so she didn't get lost. It was a blast! I barely noticed any pain. The only I felt was in my knees and some in my lungs, but not much. After Amanda and I did a mile and a half around sugarhouse. During that my quads started hurting a little, but I was probably just sore. It was over all a really good running day! |

| | Today we met at sunnyside park, my least favorite place in the world. I started my day with a glass of happy juice (v8 fruit blend) and a granola bar. Oh and I got a garbage can stuck in between a wall and my car. RJ picked me up and brought me to the death area, filled with laughing children and 'dead' tired runners. We ran to Bonneville Glen and did a lap and a half, but I accidently did only one lap, giving me 1.5 miles. I realized this when I got back REALLY early. Since I got back at such an unreasonable time, I ran over a lap around the grassy demonic place, giving me a mile and a half. My lungs felt awful at the Glen, but okay on the lap. Everyone came back by then and we did arm swings; my favorite workout EVER!!! To show the newbies how terrible this park is, we ran the 400 grass area that really feels like an 800...Then we got into relay groups to do strides. My team dominated :D To finish we did a mile and a half cooldown trying to not let this gross park bring are moods down. Now to Lagoon!!! |

| | Today my mom said I couldn't go to practice because I'm getting sick again as a result of my lack of sleep. So I slept in till nine and ate another granola bar completed with a glass of water. I ran down to sugarhouse, did a big grass lap and a road lap and a halfish so I could get rid of that .25, and ran back home. Sooo many hills were on this run and I'm really getting sick of sugarhouse park. But overall it was a pretty fun run :D |

| | I woke up twenty minutes earlier than planned to my phone going off. Hoping it was a text from Mr. Ginger, I rushed to grab it. Turns out it was my friend Marisa telling me I forgot my inhaler in her car. She could give it back to me...later tonight. So I got to go to practice with weak lungs and no inhaler. Woopie. It was a two mile warm up. During this warm up I thought of all the ways to eat ice cream. I could feel my lungs closing up and it was crazy difficult to breath. After the warm up we got into groups for fireman. At first I was totally pumped to be in an easier group. But a quarter in I knew that I could do better than this. But I thought I should stay with my group. About 3/4 of the way I was so sick of back tracking and tacking smaller steps (not to mention walking), I just started a good pace and finished. I am pretty happy I did this cause it felt nicer to just be done. After I stretched a bit and went on a three mile cool down with Logan and Chris. They are pretty chill. |

| | This morning I woke up early to run cause I have a big day ahead of me. I ran to Red Butte Garden, taking some stalker detours...mainly around Harvard Avenue. Running there was ALL up hill so it hurt a lot, but coming back was mostly down hill so it felt pretty nice. My lungs were hurting a lot though. I got a new inhaler, but my vocal chords keep closing up on me. So I guess going to that therapy monday is REALLY important. Now its time to swim!!! |

| | Dentist. The dentist. Is icky. I HATE going to the dentist. I HATE how the dentist office smells. I HATE the noise. I HATE the needles. I HATE HATE HATE the pain! After going to the EVIL dentist, I went on a six miler. This six miler felt like a piece of cake of the DEMON Dentist! I ran up to the zoo and back. I managed not to chew off my numb lip. My legs hurt because of how tense the were during the DEATH appointment, but it felt nice to stretch them out. And after my mom got me lemon ice cream :) My vocal chord therapy was switched to thursday so I still didn't know how to control my vocal chords. Pooey. |

First Day After Root Canal Starring: Delaney Chlarson, Logan Jensen, Scott Greenhalgh, Taylor Ouimette and Jeremy ZoBell. To start off the run Logan and I ran two miles around Bonneville Glen, giving me 2 miles. My tooth was really hurting because of the impact, but it seemed to wear off during the run. After, we stretched and I ran with Scotty for Fartleks. Five one minute on, one minute off. My lungs were hurting and I totally sick. Is that because of water or food or...? After I did a mile cooldown with myself. Once I got to the ZoBell's Taylor came over to do two more miles. Jeremy decided to come with. UGH! That was kind of awful. We took the garmin and ran uphill first so we could finish downhill. Once done I fell asleep in the hallway :) |

| | Last night we had a marshmallow roast. Totally fun, but the smoke from the fire totally destroyed my lungs. So when I got home I had a lot of difficulties breathing so my mom refused to wake me up in the morning. So later than everyone else, I went to liberty park and did two laps warmup, six hills and two laps cooldown. The hills were a KILLER! I hate those hills so much! On the cooldown I listened to my music. 'Forget and not slow down' is still one of my favorite running songs. So fine practice to be finished with, only not nice during it :)

| | Today I ran to Sugarhouse park. I just Google mapped that and apparently I totally got my distance for that wrong. Its a mile there, not half mile. So YAY! After I did a BIG lap around, giving me two more miles. I did four 400m hills, giving me two more miles when you include the recovery jog back. After, I did another big loop around and came home, completing three more miles. |

| | Today I planned to run with a group...but waking up at seven after being up till one at Lagoon? Not gonna happen. I slept in till nine and ran to sunnyside park, giving me two miles. After, I ran up to foothill to the drinking fountain, giving me 3.5 miles. After I ran home, finishing with 2.5 more miles. I was slightly dazed because of my sleeping in later and the heat was a killer. My knees were hurting a lot during it too. |

| | What I learned through my first ten miler of the summer. I should NEVER skip practice in the morning. Even though today I totally needed it; breathing was super hard all night and I kept being woken up because of my coughing. So I went at around 8:15pm and didn't get home until it was dark. That sure made me speed up toward the end. I HATE the dark! |

Today I went to xc practice at the peace gardens. I ran with the front group for about a mile and a half, then sat back with Gavin for another mile. We did three minutes on, five minutes off. The on hurt soooooooooooo bad! My airway closed up super quick. Stupid vocal chords. After two sets of that, we turned around and went back. Coming back wasn't too hard. Since it was an easy pace for most of it my airway opened back up some. And it was nice having someone to talk to. heh. When I got back I did my crunches and pushups. Then saw Abigail and went running with her some. Then as a team we all did step ups and arm swings for a minute each? I don't remember what time Bill said. When I got home I remembered Bill's policy (more of punishment) if you don't have your watch with you. Two extra miles. So I did them, giving me eight miles. Official name change. I feel slightly sad, but no one recognized me! My name is DELANEY

Today was the scavenger hunt! I was in a group with literally ALL the girls. Natalie, Jessie, Suzette, Abigail, Camille, Sarah, Michelle, Travis (who is a boy), Saige and me! We had to run to all these places and get pictures or something else. When we went to get a picture of bacon I realized that I REALLY want bacon. Like I REALLY REALLY REALLY want bacon. I feel so bacon deprived. We finished LAST! woo!!! MY tooshie hurts from sliding down the skate park bowl with Sam. I should put that on my running accomplishments! I'm gonna do extra miles later if vocal chord therapy doesn't kill me. Later on at Vocal Chord therapy, my doctor had me run on the treadmill and concentrate on how I breathe, then learn a different way of breathing. Took a while, but I got four miles in! |

| | The Good: Cute Boys. The Bad: Rattlesnake Gulch. The Ugly: Teaching myself to breathe. Today we were running on pipeline. I was just running at a fine pace when I see the brighton team coming up. Their boys were golly gosh darn CUTE, but FAST! So I went with them. It felt nice to go faster because I loosened up my stride more. At about the overlook I lost them. I kept running to rattlesnake gulch. About to there a guy from the team of cuties ran by me. He said 'nice shirt'. We were both wearing footlocker shirts! How adorable is that? So I ran with him for a little longer and then turned around. Going back was a toughie because my airway was super tight. I got back and ran a bit more with Patrick, giving me eight. |

| | Today we went to Liberty for speed. I wore my xc uniform cause I knew since we started at EIGHT it was going to be super hot! We did a lap warmup, two 800's and cooldown to finish 5 miles. My chest was really sore and tight from trying to teach myself how to breathe yesterday. Today I tried the same excersises! They STINK! My times on the 800's were 3:26 and 3:33. They're better than they were last year at this time so I should be happy about that right? But I still feel extremely inadaquite. Why do I do this again? Oh yeah, cause its fun. Oh well, its just a bad day that I need to get through. |

| | Today I ran down to Sugarhouse, did two BIG laps and went home. I took it slow because teaching yourself how to breathe has really effected me the past couple days. I made sure I went early so the heat wouldn't effect me badly. Then later I was walking down to sugarhouse to get a book and saw Chris doing laps. He was sure haulin! |

| | Today I went to Century Sixteen and back. It was in the heat of the day so that was pretty awful! but I guess its my own fault for not waking up in the morning right? My knee has really been bugging me. Maybe its just because my quads aren't strong enough? |
Asics Gel-Kayano Miles: 10.00 |
|
| | Today I woke up late, so I didn't get breakfast, I couldn't find my shoes, and I ran in my pajamas! I forgot to take my inhaler before the warmup. I tried right after but it didn't have time to take effect so it didn't work. It seemed that today, at seven am, was hotter than yesterday at ten am! We did eight strides. During those I felt really sick to my stomach and it was difficult to make my air way open. Breathing through a coffee straw is icky. After those we did four Bessie loops. Those are a KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I kept having flash backs of past races. I could almost hear Bill yelling at me 'Do a speed change!' 'Push it! Use your knees!' or something like that. It was a tough mental block to get through but I kept having to tell myself that I'm better than I was freshman year, I will be better than now if I get through this. Well after those I...well...to put it politely...lost that non exsistant breakfast in the bushes at the base of Bessie. We did that region course as our cooldown. During it I REALLY had to go potty, so I went potty and by the time I got out, everyone seemed done. But I wasn't. So I finished and then collasped in the park...Not in the shade. Taylor came and helped me up. Then I went home :) |

| | Today I woke up early and went running around my sister's house. I was slightly scared of being alone in a strange neighborhood so early in the morning, so I went faster than normal. The cool air felt really nice but I passed someone smoking and it made my airway really tight, so I had to slow down for a bit. |
Asics Gel-Kayano Miles: 10.00 |

| | Today I ran again around my sister's house. I went to the park by her house and did a set of fartlek, climbing one-five and then back down. Her park had more hills that I expected. Kind of like Pipeline (seems flat when you're going out but totally hilly when coming back)...Well overall it seemed like an okay day. I had to get back pretty fast so I was home before the kids and Chris woke up. |

This run made me cry. We had to go to seven different 7/elevens, chug a slurpee at each one and then run to the next! I had a kind of high fever last night (101.3 I think?) so it was hard to get up in the morning. The sugar in the slurpees seemed to dehydrate me instead of hydrate. Logan stayed with me while I tried to run in a straight line. I found my favorite flavors to be Pina Colada and Coke. Weird cause I don't drink soda...But Coke was originally invented to solve tummy aches so its totally the right thing! Once we got to the last gas station we had exactly 7.11 miles. Cool huh? We ran back to Liberty and Patrick, Maggie and I did some extra miles. When running back to sunnyside I had this huge pain in my chest and it made me slow down. At one point I was almost on the ground, cursing (shoot, darn, golly, etc.) it hurt so bad. I got back and got a ride with Amanda. Once home I collapsed on the ground, crying. My mommy got me water as I hugged the guacamole out of my cat. All over, I find this annual run to be a beast that I'm proud to have finished. YES! I love finding out I messed up my mileage count and actually did more :D

| | Well this run rocked. I ran from my house to Bonneville Glen, down to Liberty to cheer on my friends who were finishing the 10k and back home. I liked waking up super early to do this, the sun was just coming up so everything had that mystic look to it. My chest hurt pretty bad when I got to Liberty, but getting home I focused on getting up all the hills so the pain seemed to pale in comparison. Yes, running is totally like acupuncture. My calves aren't quite used to this again but I think I'll be back to my regular fitness by the end of the week. 'Knock on wood'. |

| | Dear Bill, I was late to Seminary :P From Delaney So the run was okay. I hit a branch though! My knees really hurt for both parts. Luckily I wasn't having any lung problems! | | Today I woke up late. So I ran down to sugarhouse to try to make it to my team, but that didn't work. So I did a lap around. By that time the rain was hitting really really hard. I finished the lap and ran up 2100s to 2300e and found a puddle...well you probably know what I did :) It all started there. I ran along 2300e to Dilworth Elementary School because I remember a huge pothole from my youth. And I jumped in it! After that I ran over to 1700s and went down that street until I got to Wasatch Hollow. I found some fun puddles there, did my strides and finished with six and a swing :D |

Today we ran Shoreline. I got lost and ended up only doing 4 miles. pooey right? After the run my first thought was, "there is blood EVERYWHERE!". Sad thing was I said that out loud. But it was true! Blood on my hands, on my shorts, on my legs, on my ankles, on my face. Apparently while running I clawed myself, hit my hand on my shorts and legs and then tried to wipe I guess sweat off my face? And the ankle is because I accidentally kicked a rock up while running. So nothing bad. I did my core while I waited for people to get back. When they were back we did three sets of one minute stepups, same thing for arm swings and wall sits. My quads aren't strong enough!
Later, I ran down to Wasatch Hollow park, did some strides, ran along 1700 E to Michigan and went up that to 1900E and took that home. It felt nice and relaxing...until realized I might be passing a cute boy's house... |

| | Bike and Run. My partner was Maclean. I did not get any good amount of sleep last night because my breathing was awful. I started out on the bike and it felt really nice. The running was more difficult, but I seemed to be doing okay...until I got to the cows. I have an irrational fear of cows. Actually I think its pretty rational. They hecka scary! So anyway, Annie helped me through the terrible cows and I got on the bike again. I really liked biking because I didn't breathe as hard. At the turn around point I took a puff of my inhaler and a sip of water and kept going. I was so tough! Toward the end I realized I had to finish running. Gross. I pushed it with Bill right behind me. Annie totally gave me a good kick at the end. Awesome right? Then we had breakfast, I talked to Dylan and Patrick (I totally beat Patti) and finally it was time to go home. Towards the end of the ride Bill woke me up. I almost screamed. |

| | To start off Hill Heck Week I was babysitting! I had a break at about seven because Chris was between his two jobs so I ran to the park closest to their house. There weren't any hills to do switch backs on really so I did a loop like thing like we do at Liberty park. I got super tired but I wanted to keep going because it was getting dark and my sister lives in a creepy neighborhood. So I did about ten or so of those, did a few laps around the park and then ran home...or my sister's home. So lets review. Ways to make me run faster: 1) cute boys 2) dark 3) Bill being right behind me.

| | So I read on Abs' blog about JCC. JCC is cursed. I wish I waited till evening to do this but I was being stupid. The hills were a KILLER! Have I ever said how much I hate those hills? I would like to imagine myself as Rocky Balboa on those hills, with awesome theme music, but in truth I was crying my eyes out and wheezing. I wish I hadn't walked part of a few hills but at least I'll remember that for next time. I love going back on that trail though, its amazing how much of a breeze you get! |
